USB PNP AUDIO DEVICE AUDACITY PC
So in other words, per my original post, the PC will only recognize the input of the USB port coming from the Pyle as a "USB PnP Microphone," which will not record in stereo. "Audacity is able to "see" that I have "Stereo Mix" in my sound tray, but it will not actually use it to Its the USB PnP Microphone that is doing the actual recording, even though in Audacity, I have the recording device/setting pointed to the Stereo Mix. Mix, 2 channel recording, both the left and right channels are displaying the same sound waves, and more significantly, even though Stereo Mix is set as the default recorder in the Sound tray, you can see that in the little "sound meter" in the sound tray, However, when the Plyle Player/recorder is plugged into the PC, the PC only recognizes it as "USB PnP Microphone." That is, while recording in Audacity, even though I have it set to Stereo (Microphone) set to Stereo Mix, and have selected 2 channel recording. It's enabled as the default in my sound tray.
USB PNP AUDIO DEVICE AUDACITY HOW TO
I had previously figured out how to get "Stereo Mix" as an option in my choice of recording options in my sound tray by downloading an Audio Codec. Does anyone know how to get the computer to see the Pyle player/recorder as a "USB Audio Codec"? According to Audacity's documentation, I should be lookingįor a "USB Audio Codec" as a recording option in my PCs sound tray. When I connect the Pyle device it shows up in the sound tray as a recording device "USB PnP Microphone". Waves" are exactly the same for the right and left channel, and the resultant MP3 is 2-speaker MONO, not stereo. As you view the recording process in Audacity, its clear that the left and right channel are identical. However, the computer (running Windows 8) only recognizes the Pyle machine as being a "USB PnP microphone", evidently with only a mono signal. I am able to record the music from the cassette and convert it to MP3. I have all the settings in Audacity set up to record in stereo. I've hooked the unit up to my computer via the USB port as directed,Īnd downloaded the recommended Audacity. I am trying to convert stereo cassettes to stereo MP3s using a Pyle Cassette to MP3 converter.
